Widows & Orphans Care
According to UNICEF (the United Nations Children’s Emergency Fund), there are roughly 153 million orphans worldwide. Every day an estimated 5,700 more children become orphans. Children are often relinquished due to war, natural disaster, poverty, disease, stigma, and medical needs.
Life for an orphan, particularly in a developing country can be very difficult. Orphans all too often face exploitation, abuse, malnutrition and disease. The need for orphan sponsorship programmes has never been greater. The aim of Verozi Foundation is to benefit the orphans by providing homes for the orphans and also fostering services.
There are an estimated 258 million widows around the world. About 700,000 women become widowed each year. Over 10 years, that makes 7 million widows and nearly one in seven live in extreme poverty with no income and many are forced into prostitution.
We provide long-term emotional and financial assistance to women and children who have lost their primary providers. Through education sponsorships and community support groups, we ensure every child has a path forward and every widow lives with dignity and security.
